The True Value of Handmade Soap

The personal attention and love that good soap makers infuse into their work is evident in the products that they create. By definition, handmade soap is literally just that, made by the “hands” of the maker. The soap is inspired, formulated, created, cut, and packaged without the use of mass produced manufacturing machinery. A factory can crank out hundreds of units per hour, while an individual can only make a finite quantity, a fraction of the number of pieces in the same amount of time.

As a soap maker, I have a very intimate relationship with each loaf that I create. This formulation process is key to the value that is experienced in every bar.
At Winni Soap, we are dedicated to sustainability and ethically sourced materials. By nature, being ethical can be much more costly than taking the easy route and purchasing from the supplier with the lowest prices and unknown sourcing. At Winni Soap, we always use the highest quality materials sourced from suppliers who share our passion of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Aromatherapeutic oils - gifts from the gardens, meadows and forest -  are carefully blended to relax, rejuvenate, and restore your body, mind and spirit. Nature's colors, textures and fragrances in their endless combinations continue to inspire us to create the very best, all natural, artisan soaps. I know very ingredient, and each is added with intention - and gratitude for the natural beauty and sense of community around the lake. As the saying goes, we know that if you're lucky enough to be at the lake - you're lucky enough! As a maker, my energy, this energy, goes into each loaf.

Our very, very small-scale production is always high quality because of our ability to track and control the process from start to finish.
Conscientious creativity and personal responsibility is inherent in the making process. We are extremely proud of the products we produce. We aren’t going to let something of inferior quality go out the door with our name on it.

As the gift giving season is upon us, there is a lot of buzz about buying local and supporting small business these days. Reducing our carbon footprint and supporting local artisans is good for the environment and good for everyone. But just as important is sharing the intention with which local artisans and makers infuse love and energy into each piece of their craft. There is great value in supporting local from a sustainability and energetic standpoint. - and greater value in supporting the small, caring communities of the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.

Winnipesaukee Soap Company is supporting the important work of End 68 Hours of Hunger with proceeds from product sales in November and December.
End 68 Hours of Hunger is a private, not-for-profit, effort to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some local school children experience between the free lunch they receive in school on Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive in school on Monday morning.

So along with the extra value inherent in our quality, all-natural handmade soap, you are also supporting something even bigger. You should feel really good about your purchase knowing that you have a special piece of our hearts, and our home, in your hand.
Thank you!
